Job Description

Position Senior Design Engineer Specialist

Location: East Hartford, CT

Duties: Perform static and dynamic analyses of aero engine components, specifically HPC (High pressure compressors) roto and blade structural analyses. Execute static structural design of Rotating components redesign assessment, verify component durability and interchangeability of parts using finite element analysis, (ANSYS-APDL or Workbench Linear and non-linear static stress analysis (Geometric, Material and contact Linearity) using ANSYS-APDL or Workbench Modal, Harmonic and transient Dynamic stress analysis. Update designs and documentation as required, ensure the structural capability is met, so that the rotor components perform efficiently. Document structural analyses of the roto components and data required to show compliance with regulatory requirements. Travel/Relocation to other unanticipated locations throughout the US is required.

Requirement: Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related + 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer Specialist, Asst. Project Manager or related and 2 years of experience in LCF analyses, Fracture mechanics, Modal analyses, ANSYS, Hypermesh and FE modeling.
