Senior Development Manager

Compensation This position has a set starting hourly wage at $18 per hour plus 10% bonus on all funding raised. Job Summary The Development Director plays a crucial role in driving the organization's fundraising efforts and ensuring the sustainability of our programs. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives, managing donor relationships, and overseeing grant proposal writing. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for advancing our mission through effective fundraising strategies. Responsibilities • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet organizational goals. • Write compelling grant proposals to secure funding from various sources. • Manage and cultivate relationships with current and prospective donors. • Oversee email marketing campaigns to engage supporters and promote fundraising events. • Negotiate funding agreements with partners and stakeholders. • Utilize social media management to enhance the organization’s online presence and outreach efforts. • Maintain databases, ensuring accurate tracking of donor information and contributions. • Utilize Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce, or similar CRM tools for donor management and reporting. • Create engaging content for newsletters and updates using Constant Contact or similar platforms. • Prepare budgets for fundraising initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational financial goals. Qualifications • Proven experience in grant proposal writing with a successful track record of securing funding. • Proficiency in email marketing strategies and tools such as Constant Contact. • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders. • Experience in social media management to effectively promote campaigns and engage audiences. • Familiarity with databases, particularly Raiser’s Edge or Salesforce, for managing donor relations. • Strong budgeting skills to develop financial plans for fundraising activities. • Demonstrated experience in fundraising within a nonprofit environment is preferred. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail. • A passion for the mission of the organization and a commitment to advancing its goals. We work with Live Well San Diego to ensure all orphan and foster children, including transition aged youth coming out of the foster system have resources, mentoring and support.
