Why We’re Hiring
Â
We’re looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with experience working in agile development teams. You will be responsible for service delivery, reliability, scalability, monitoring, and helping define all of this as infrastructure-as-code. We are looking for someone who can create and maintain infrastructure by writing good code, not pushing buttons. And no, you will not be managing deploys, maintaining and supporting apps you didn’t write or get called every time there is an issue with the system. You will be providing tools for engineers to do all that.
Our technology stack is built in Go, React, and React Native, running on MySQL, Redis and Algolia. We containerize and deploy with ECS on AWS. We are looking for someone who possess a strong desire to implement change, growth, and maturity, and have a passion and love for what they do. This role comes with the opportunity to be a high performer within a department that’s fast-paced, dynamic, and quickly growing in all areas.
Who You Are
- 5+ years of professional DevOps/SRE experience at a consumer software company.
- Expertise with AWS (e.g. IAM, EC2, VPC, NLB, Autoscaling, etc.).
- A drive towards automating repetitive tasks (e.g. scripting via Bash, Python, etc).
- Practical experience with Docker containerization and clustering (e.g. ECS/Kubernetes).
- Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
- Experience working with microservices and a solid understanding of 12 factor principles
- Experience developing in Golang is a bonus
- Comfortable with emerging technologies, and assessing technological risk within a high-traffic production environment.
- An ability to drive to goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and a willingness to educate others on the tools and services we provide
- Bachelor or master’s degree in CS, or equivalent practical experience.
What You'll Do
- Implement automation, effective monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Create, maintain, and iterate on our CI/CD processes for new and existing services.
- Increase the sophistication of our alerting and escalation mechanisms.
- Strengthen our application and environment security, applying standards and best practices and providing tooling to make development workflows more secure.
- Iterate on best practices to increase the quality & velocity of deployments.
- Help increase system performance with a focus on high availability and scalability.
- Propose, scope, design, and implement various infrastructure architectures.
What We Offer
- Best in class health, dental, and vision insurance
- Short-term/long-term disability and life insurance
- Paid Parental leave
- 401k with 4% match
- Pet Insurance
- Legal and Identity Theft Plans
- Vacation time and sick days
We’re an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
