About your role:
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our team & take our infrastructure to the next level. Â
In this role, you will:Â
- Champion the processes for the containerization of our microservices
- Lead the initiative to migrate our microservices to Kubernetes (AWS EKS)
- Help develop processes needed to allow the container/Kubernetes environment to run smoothly
- Continuously improve the reliability & efficiency of our infrastructure
- Champion automation, server-side scripting, and Terraform/Ansible
- Build tools to streamline our deployment pipelines for fast, continuous delivery
- Set up, scale, and maintain our various services as needed
- Build/configure tools to monitor our infrastructure and services
- Identify potential bottlenecks or problem areas and propose solutions as neededÂ

The Senior DevOps Engineer will get to:Â
- Architect and implement highly available and scalable AWS (EKS) Kubernetes clusters tailored to the organization’s requirements for production, development and testing environments
- Design processes around managing the Kubernetes environmentsÂ
- Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant, scalable architectures in dynamic, fast-growing environmentsÂ
- Work in small cross-functional teams of experienced and extraordinarily talented engineers in a CI/CD environment with cutting-edge technologiesÂ
- Manage and secure AWS (Amazon Web Services) Services
- Design and implement Terraform & Ansible playbooks for small- and large-scale environments in CI/CD pipelines
- Integrate and implement best practices and DevOps methodologies in every step of the engineering processÂ
- Build out real-time monitoring, analytics, and reporting dashboards Â
- Participate in engineering efforts to support new features that directly impact the relationship between philanthropic causes and those who support themÂ
- Ensure meet our DevOps KPIs of uptime, system resilience, resource utilization, provisioning services, building and improving scripts and templates for tools, cost efficiency, and time to restore service after a disruptionÂ
To be successful in this role, you’ll also:Â
Success as a Senior DevOps Engineer hinges on ensuring reliable, efficient, scalable systems. It involves building robust networks, servers, and tools to handle vast and various data flows. Â
Your experience:Â
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field (STEM)
- Language Proficiency: English Â
- MUST be a Kubernetes expertÂ
- Have led the migration of services to Kubernetes (AWS EKS, AWS MSK)Â
- AWS Certifications, AWS EKS, Docker, Serverless, AWS MSK, container methodologies, and orchestration Â
- 5+ years of experience managing and administering AWS cloud infrastructure with AWS services, CLI, and API in all types of environments, including productionÂ
- 5+ years of experience designing and managing Kubernetes clusters in Production environmentsÂ
- Support of high-traffic, public-facing systemsÂ
- Designing CI/CD pipeline with Jenkins, Ansible Git, and moreÂ
- Strong background in Python, Shell scripting, Nginx, Apache, Linux, AWS Services, AWS CLI, and TerraformÂ
- AWS Certifications, Docker, Serverless, AWS MSK, container methodologies and orchestrationÂ
- Hands-on with building and supporting Microservice architectureÂ
- Extensive knowledge of Linux environmentsÂ
- Hands-on designing/writing/delivering system automationÂ
- Expert level of scripting, deployment automation, and configuration management with Ansible and Jenkins Â
- Expert level orchestration with Jenkins, Git, and GitHub
- Understanding and applying DevOps methodologies Â
- Applying best practices in all aspects of administration, automation, and scriptingÂ
- Proficient level experience scripting with Python, PHP, and shell Â
- Familiar with database concepts and RDS database solutions from an operations perspectiveÂ
- Fundamental understanding of web architecture and application development Â
- Monitoring and designing alerts for all aspects of operations, including applications and Infrastructure with DataDog, CloudWatch, and similar platforms
- Contributing to designing innovative solutions to improve current procedures
- Assisting other departments in engineering solutions for new and existing services
- Skill and knowledge to quickly troubleshoot/resolve issues in production environments
- Strong root cause analysis skills to review services and systems challenges, provide short- and long-term solutions
- Excellent work ethic and willingness to put in extra time as needed
