THE ROLE: Senior Director, Accounting

We’re looking for…

As the Senior Director Accounting, you’ll report to the VP, Controller and have direct oversight of the general ledger and accounting operations on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, you’ll coach, develop, and lead a team of Accountants.

You’ll lean into your strategic and consultative approach to drive impact as a key business partner and uncover opportunities/ tease out solutions that focus on incremental process improvement and efficiency.

Last, but certainly not least, in partnership with your Corporate Finance peers, you’ll seek out opportunities to increase Rue Gilt Groupe’s ability to anticipate business fluctuations and drive informed decision-making.

What You'll Do:

• Oversight and management of the general accounting function which includes all aspects of financial reporting including Revenue/Accounts Receivable, COGS/Inventory and Operating Expenses.
• Oversee and ensure efficient and timely month-end, quarterly and year-end close process which includes balance sheet reconciliations and analysis.
• Partner with Finance, Operations and other cross-functional teams to collect and share data to assist in presenting complete and accurate financial records.
• Provide guidance and coaching with a focus on skill development, collaboration, and empowerment to think creatively and drive innovation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting required
• Masters Degree/CPA strongly preferred
• Minimum 10-12 years of experience gained in a combination of Big 4 public accounting and/or retail company
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Retail or Consumer Markets preferred
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting required
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Well organized and capable of managing multiple projects in dynamic fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
