Senior Director of Lilly Brand Strategy and Campaign
Position Overview
Lilly has created a centralized Customer Experience Hub (CEH) by assembling a group of teams, across the organization, that are passionate about understanding and serving customers, and work together as Team Lilly to meet their evolving needs within a complex healthcare ecosystem.
In today's ever-changing world, Lilly uses a dedicated team to meet the needs of consumers and brands through strategic marketing partnerships.
The Lilly Brand and Partnership team is currently standing up a team responsible to continue the success of the Lilly Corporate campaign that was debuted during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and create a strategic global approach to establishing Lilly as a brand for consumers, customers and stakeholders.
Lilly is staffing for a Senior Director of Lilly Brand Strategy and Campaign who will be responsible for the global campaign development, strategy, production, execution and measurement and leading a team of marketing associates that will be responsible for the implementation of the brand campaign with a focus on the US market, and global application to OUS.
This position reports to the Associate Vice-President for Brand, Media and Partnerships. An ideal candidate has prior experience in campaign development and execution and proven prior in-market results. This person can quickly build trust and rapport, as well as partner across cross-functional teams, externally and internally, to successfully build a global campaign to be the new face of the Lilly Brand and establish Lilly as a trusted partner in the eyes of customer and stakeholders. This position will work closely with our Partnerships and activation Team, especially in preparation for our next Olympics sponsorships in Paris 2024, Milan 2026 and Los Angeles 2028.
Responsibilities:
Leadership: Provide team with strategic leadership and vision, along with appropriate training, development, and coaching Creative Development: Work with external creative agency to create and deliver a comprehensive multi-stakeholder campaign strategy and execution. Transformation: Support transformation change management by leading enterprise workstreams across teams to deliver creative assets that establish the Lilly Brand across Consumer, HCP, internal and external stakeholders and cultural footprint. Collaboration: Work closely with external agency/partnership partners and internal cross functional partners including Media, Social Media, Privacy, Legal and Regulator, HR to assess each function need and deliver an holistic strategy to embed the Lilly Brand within each function. Need to have ability to work within and lead within an IAT agency model. Asset Management: Partner closely with teams on campaign development and deliverables keeping track of partnership assets and associated activation elements. Media Activation: Manage brand media activation related to partnership campaigns, inclusive but not limited to planning and measurement in collaboration with the media team. Data Driven: Partner closely with Advanced Analytics and Market Research teams on frameworks, metrics, learning agendas, and the operationalizing deliverables across partnership marketing. Agency Management: Manage media agency relationships. Establish expectations (two-way) for client - agency partnership. Build relationship with agency leads to accomplish customer focused strategy and tactics. Develop action plans as needed based on regular partnership evaluation. Risk Management: Ensure compliance with marketing guidelines, policies, and procedures. Maintain good practices across Privacy, IT, Analytics, Legal and Regulatory. Financial Management: Instill flawless fundamentals into budget management across team.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree
- Senior, seasoned professional with 10+ years' experience in sports in marketing and/or entertainment marketing partnerships, sponsorships, creative, and/or marketing/media.
- Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- Requires broad expertise in mass marketing and multiple media channels, with proven in-market results from past campaigns.
- Pharma experience not needed but is a plus
- Must be highly collaborative in nature and understand how to get things done within a complex, layered organization
- Able to inspire a team and develop strong marketers. Team player that understands broader vision and can drive to action while keeping the team engaged and motivated.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed, with strong decision-making skills, strong project management, budget management and prioritization skills.
- Must have a proven track record in influencing levels above them and outside of their functional area and a service mindset
- Must be comfortable with change and ambiguity and ability to resolve problems
- Track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams to deliver results
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
- Inclusive leader with proven ability to respect and work effectively with a diverse team.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills with high attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills
