We are growing and adding positions to our team! The job duties for the position ofSenior Director of Accountingare listed below. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and strategicSenior Director of Accountingto lead our accounting function as we continue to scale and optimize operations. The ideal candidate will be a CPA with deep GAAP knowledge, proven leadership experience, and a strong operational mindset, ideally within a private equity-backed and/or healthcare environment. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, support financial reporting and audits, and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes. You’ll play a key role in partnering with the CFO to ensure compliance, accuracy, and insight as the business grows. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Management: • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performing, collaborative environment. • Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. Financial Reporting & Compliance: • Oversee the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including audits, tax filings, and other statutory obligations. • Manage the year-end audit process, working closely with external auditors. Accounting Operations: • Oversee daily accounting activities, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and cash management. • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. • Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce key reports and metrics. • Timely closing and keeping team accountable Strategic Initiatives: • Support strategic financial planning through budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Drive automation and efficiency in accounting processes through technology implementation and optimization. • Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership for process improvements and strategic decision-making. • Lead accounting due diligence and integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures. Revenue Cycle & Operational Support: • Partner with the revenue cycle management team to streamline billing, collections, and denial management processes. • Monitor key metrics such as days in accounts receivable (AR), payer mix, and episode-based payment compliance. • Collaborate with clinical operations to optimize financial outcomes while ensuring quality patient care. • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid payment systems, including PDGM, VBID, and per diem reimbursement models. • Experience with regulatory compliance specific to hospice and home health, including face-to-face requirements and election statements. • Familiarity with financial systems commonly used in home health and hospice, such as Brightree, WellSky, or AlayaCare. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in multi-entity accounting or healthcare industries. • Knowledge of mergers and acquisitions, purchase accounting, and integration. • Hands-on experience with digital transformation initiatives, such as ERP or BI system implementations. Qualifications: Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred). • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is a plus. Experience: • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles. Expertise in GAAP, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting. • Proven experience in managing accounting systems (NetSuite, or similar ERP platforms). • Experience working with Private Equity Operating companies is a huge plus Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities to manage teams and interact with senior executives. • Proficiency in financial modeling, process improvement, and project management.
