Senior Financial Analyst

Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst assists in the development, management, and achievement of the firm’s financial goals. The position interacts with administrative, legal, accounting, information technology and firm-wide management to assist in providing high quality reports and performing analysis of monthly financial results.

Job Responsibilities

• Analyzes monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to ensure financial information has been recorded accurately. Takes appropriate action if errors are uncovered.
• Uses Microsoft Management Studio to create ad-hoc SQL queries/reporting, stored procedures, data tables and views.
• Prepares monthly financial review summary reports for senior management providing written analysis and the ‘story’ behind the numbers.
• Develops integrated revenue and expense analyses, reports, and annual projections, and develops presentations to aid in strategic decision making.
• Assists in weekly and monthly processes and updates to rolling twelve month forecast.
• Assists FP&A team with preparation of firm annual budgets at designated departmental and office levels.
• Participates in compilation and analysis of financial information for all offices as well as competitive benchmarking and industry wide surveys.
• Maintain stored procedures and suggest improvements and revisions.
• Performs ad hoc analysis and reporting, as needed.

Requirements:

• Must be detail-oriented and demonstrate a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing with attorneys, management, and staff.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of MS suite Excel and Power Point, as well as knowledge of SQL, Visual Studio and/or IBM Cognos TM1 is preferred.
• Ability to understand complex processes and communicate them to a non-technical audience.

Education

The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.

Experience

The position requires a minimum of three (3) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience, or a combination of experience and continued education/training, during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were acquired and demonstrated.
