Position Summary:
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting Brain Corp's financial infrastructure, focusing on maintaining and enhancing our financial health through expert analysis and strategic planning. This position is responsible for advanced financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to drive strategic decisions and support business growth. The ideal candidate will be an Excel/Google Sheets expert, a wizard at using shortcuts for maximum productivity, and an artisan in manipulating complex data sets across various platforms including Excel, Google Sheets, BigQuery/GCP, with data sourced from NetSuite, Salesforce, and other external sources.
Essential Job Functions:
- Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the monthly reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes. Provide insights and analyses to assist in strategic decision-making and financial planning.
- Data Analysis and Manipulation: Exhibit expertise in handling diverse data types, ensuring accuracy and effectiveness in financial models and reports. Utilize advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Google Sheets and BigQuery/GCP for data analysis.
- Strategic Financial Initiatives: Support equity/debt financing efforts and provide in-depth financial due diligence. Play a key role in evaluating potential investments, mergers, and acquisitions to align with the company’s strategic goals.
- Financial Modeling: Develop sophisticated financial models for scenario analysis to forecast and track company performance, identifying trends and making recommendations for improvement.
- Sales Commission Management: Oversee and refine the sales commission structure and payouts, ensuring alignment with company goals and financial sustainability.
- Cost Optimization and Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency enhancements. Lead initiatives for financial process automation and improvement.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:Â
- Preferred: MBA or Master’s degree in Corporate Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, planning, or a closely related field, preferably within a high growth SaaS or similar technology-focused company.Â
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:Â
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with financial software applications and data platforms (e.g. BigQuery).
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Strong experience in monthly reporting, budgeting, variance analysis, and forecasting processes.
- Experience in equity/debt financing and supporting financial due diligence efforts.
- Strong understanding of balance sheets and cash flow statements, providing a solid foundation for comprehensive financial analysis and strategy formulation.
- Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex financial information in a clear and persuasive manner to stakeholders at all levels, including C-suite executives.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience in managing projects and initiatives.

Work Environment:

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Employees are exposed to the typical office environment with computers, printers and telephones.
Salary Range:
The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in San Diego, California is $105,000 to $135,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Brain Corp is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
