POSITION SUMMARY

BorgWarner is currently looking for a "dynamic, results driven" individual to join as a Senior Financial Analyst at our World Headquarters in Auburn Hills, MI.

The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of Securities and Exchange Commission ("SEC") filings, including the Form 10-K, 10-Q and 11-K. This requires coordination with other functional areas to obtain supporting information, project planning and tracking. This position will also provide support with technical accounting and project management for merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions. Additional responsibilities may include assistance the consolidation of the monthly results from approximately 90+ locations throughout the world, goodwill impairment testing and other ad-hoc accounting/reporting projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Prepare SEC filings, including XBRL tagging, and ensure all information is reported accurately and in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Perform technical research and project management for merger, acquisition and divestiture transactions to determine the appropriate accounting under U.S. GAAP, the impact on SEC filings and proper audit documentation.
• Review the monthly consolidation to ensure intercompany balances are eliminated and follow-up with global plant locations as necessary.
• Work with locations on one-time items impacting the consolidation to ensure it is appropriately reflected in HFM (e.g., closing of a location).
• Record consolidating journal entries within HFM on a monthly basis.
• Assist in various projects including internal accounting policy updates and preparation of ad-hoc reports.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualifications

• 5-8 years' experience in accounting or finance
• BA in Accounting or Finance required
• SEC reporting experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA preferred
• MBA preferred
• Experience in OneStream and SAP preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation skills and the ability to question unusual activity reported by operations
• Must be able to work in a fast-pace team environment
• Highly driven / self-starter
