Senior Front-End Engineer (Manila, Philippines)

We seek a Senior Front-End Engineer with expertise in React and React Native to lead our mobile development and refine our front-end practices. This role demands a mix of technical skill, creativity, and a strong commitment to testing, ensuring our applications are intuitive, performant, and reliable. The ideal candidate will excel in solving technical challenges, implementing comprehensive testing strategies, and driving forward innovations that elevate user experience. You'll have the freedom to shape our front-end direction, maintaining high-quality standards and pushing the boundaries of design and usability.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable front-end applications for both web and mobile platforms.
• Drive the implementation of user interfaces in collaboration with UX/UI designers, optimizing for an exceptional user experience.
• Provide technical leadership in front-end development, guiding and mentoring junior team members.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies to ensure our applications remain at the forefront of innovation.
• Ensure high code quality through best practices, code reviews, and continuous integration.
• Implement and maintain a robust testing framework, encompassing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to ensure the reliability and functionality of front-end applications.
• Optimize application performance for a seamless and responsive user experience.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers to implement visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces.
• Communicate effectively with back-end developers, the product team, and other stakeholders to integrate front-end and back-end functionalities seamlessly.
• Identify and address technical challenges, proposing innovative solutions to optimize application performance and usability.

WHAT MAKES YOU QUALIFIED

• 4-6 years of experience working in front-end development (preferably with startup experience) with a strong portfolio of projects demonstrating expertise in React and React Native.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Demonstrated ability to lead initiatives and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under tight deadlines.

You will report to AKKO's Senior Cloud Ops Engineer. The position disclosed is a contract position looking to be filled immediately. The contractor will be expected to commit to 40 hours of work per week (8 hours/day) and be available to overlap with 9:00am-5:00pm EST.
