The role

We are looking for a Senior Front-End Javascript developer with experience in core web technologies and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue to work as part of our highly successful Justride team. Our platform primarily uses Vue with some legacy code in Angular.

The Justride team is responsible for the development and maintenance of several web applications used by customers of the Justride platform. These platforms combined currently process over $1 billion in transactions a year. With these kinds of numbers security and fraud mitigation are paramount to our success.

We ensure high standards through comprehensive end-to-end and unit testing as well as refactoring to ensure we work to the latest standards and best practices.

We work as part of a cross-discipline team that delivers robust and reusable components originating from product requirements through UX design development and quality assurance. We are looking for a proactive person to join the team and actively contribute to code reviews pairing knowledge sharing mentoring and technical road-mapping.

Location

This role is available in Colombia in a fully remote model with occasional travel to one of our offices.

About You

• Experience taking a leading role in delivering complex and innovative solutions with your team

• Flexible to changing priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment

• Know when to escalate when to apply the brakes and which battles are worth fighting

• Comfortable presenting and knowledge sharing with both technical and non-technical audiences

• Experience mentoring FE software engineers to improve their skills and knowledge and to make them more effective and productive

• Proficiency in modern web-based technologies; HTML CSS JavaScript

• Experience developing modern JavaScript using TypeScript ECMAScript and other transpilers

• Experience using multiple modern JavaScript component frameworks such as Vue and Angular

• Strong experience working with web standards accessibility and usability including knowledge of W3C-specific standards and WCAG 2.1

• Proficiency working with client-side bundlers such as Webpack Rollup Vite etc

• Some exposure or understanding of  other modern programming or scripting languages such as Java Kotlin Python etc

• A deep understanding of design patterns object-oriented design functional programming data structures and algorithms

• Must be approachable patient and an excellent communicator a team player

Nice to Have

• Experience working with hybrid web and mobile app development using Capacitor.JS Flutter etc

• Experience driving technical quality and gathering requirements in your team through collaboration with users other technical teams and product experience owning technical designs and decision-making for your team

• Knowledge of native mobile technologies both iOS and Android

• Some experience mentoring team members

• Experience migrating between JavaScript frameworks

• Proven evangelism of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development lifecycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes automated front-end testing and operations
