Primary responsibilities:

  • Coordinating and reviewing the completion of monthly and annual books and records for 4 Emerging Market hedge funds and one allocation Fund of Funds with a total AUM of ~$7bb.
  • Oversight of the fund administrator, fund auditor and fund tax preparer.
  • Management of the annual financial statement preparation and audit process for all 5 funds.
  • Review of the internal fund estimate results, including preparing reconciliations to the internal P&L reporting system and investor allocations and investigating and resolving differences.
  • Reviewing the administrator’s monthly portfolio valuation results and reporting them to the valuation committee and fund directors.
  • Management and coordination of the monthly fund accounts payable and fund expenses, including management fee & performance fee review and processing.
  • Management of annual fund tax compliance requirements, including tax filings and FATCA & CRS reporting requirements.
  • Review of management company books and records, accounts payable and tax filings.

Required qualities or skills:

  • Four to six years previous experience in a fund accounting role.
  • Thorough understanding of financial products, including fixed income, foreign exchange, commodities and derivatives.
  • Understanding of series accounting, including, standard management and performance fee calculations.
  • Strong team focus with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Diligent, proactive and uses initiative to prioritize work. Able to manage conflicting priorities and be flexible on timing as required by workload.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels by building trust through consistent delivery, open and timely communication with senior management and peers.
  • Ability to anticipate potential problems and solutions in advance.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Previous audit experience preferred.
  • A candidate eligible for the Certified Public Accountant exam, or parts of the exam completed, preferred.

Pay range in New York

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Base salary- $125,000/yr - $150,000/yr
