Job Description
Every large company was once a startup. And inside large companies are billion-dollar ideas, hidden talent and ready capital – resources and expertise that are the envy of any startup. Yet most companies never realize the potential of their built-in advantages for growth.
Why? Because doing that requires them to think and act differently — to recapture the spirit, spark, and speed of their entrepreneurial origins. It’s exceptionally difficult to do — but Mach49 does just that. We help ambitious companies unlock new disruptive growth through Venture Building and Venture Investing.
Focused 100% on execution, we bring Silicon Valley expertise to building and investing in a portfolio of ventures — building capability, not dependency. Learn more at www.mach49.com.

- Collaborate and partner within the functions of the Office of People and Belonging (L&D, Belonging, COEs, Regional HR) to understand programs and tools available for business.
- Execute on HR Plans and Programs - either personally or through COE/Shared Services effectively execute on plans, programs and promises.
- Support for talent acquisition and talent management programs (development of role descriptions, job advertisements, contracting, employee engagement, career pathing)
- Management or oversight of payroll, benefits and compensation for multiple legal entities and employers
- Development and revision of guidelines and ensuring our compliance with employment law and our parent company’s operating framework
- Management of people data within our HRIS (Bob) and other systems like Greenhouse.
/ REQUIREMENTS
- 10+ years business experience with 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions including as an HR Business Partner

- Good working knowledge of employment law across multiple countries, ideally the UK and US at a minimum.
- Exceptional people skills and the demonstrated ability to gain confidence, build rapport, and drive consensus with leaders.
- Executive presence - strong presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills paired with the ability to execute with efficiency and urgency.
- Strong understanding of human-centred design and how it applies to the HR/People function
- Ability to manage ambiguity in a fast-paced, fluid environment and help others navigate within that environment
- Flexibility and willingness to work when the work is needed, and to learn / deploy new skills as our entrepreneurial environment requires.
- A willingness to do what it takes to succeed – there is no job too big or too small.
- Proficiency in Google G-Suite, Box, Miro, Slack, Keynote and other cloud business solutions including ATS (we use Greenhouse) and HRIS (we use Bob)

- In office expectation: Our London office is near Oxford Circus and we’d like this position to spend ~20% time in-office, with the rest being office-based or remote in the UK according to your preference.
- Travel expectation: Our teams stretch from Singapore through to the Middle East and onto the West Coast of the US. We don’t anticipate heavy travel but you should expect a few business trips per year of around a week each time.
