Job Description

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION

Design market right product graphics ranges for the adidas brand as part of an international design team in co-operation with product marketing and product development.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be at the global forefront of design trends and innovation and their application.
  • Own the creative process to make sure that the final products meet commercial and image objectives.
  • Execute, lead and drive the defined project(s) creatively.
  • Design graphics for the international inline and account exclusives apparel based on the direction of the Design leader and in cooperation with marketing.
  • Ensure good communication with product management and development.
  • Creating 3D concept representation, 3D assets, digital product information for an accurate development and decision-making process
  • Execute t-shirt graphic design vs. the visual language of adidas and CI guidelines.
  • Translate the business strategies into differentiated and distinctive design language to fulfil customers` expectations.
  • Steer the direction of graphics through collecting relevant information needed to create truly international t-shirt and apparel sports graphics. This includes all possible sources to gain this information:
    • Trade publications, trade fairs, sport events
    • General interest press, trend services, fashion & sportswear magazines store checks, market visits, team travel
  • Produce trend and travel reports for other members of the design team and present findings to marketing.
  • Create graphic design concepts for the respective product area and /or the defined project.
  • Design graphics (this includes illustrations, typographies, logo graphics, hand sketches, artworks, technical drawings, colour concepts and colorations, story boards)
  • Ensure proper handover of graphic artworks to the mechanical production department and into development. Main duty is to submit all relevant information needed for the development process such as original artworks, colour indication, execution information, artwork sizes
  • Be first point of contact for product management in all issues regarding the realization of products and collections.
  • Manage an efficient process and communication flow between design, marketing and development (within x- functional team) for all issues regarding the products designed by the designer and/or the defined project.
  • Present graphics internally and help with presentations, which support the launch of products designed by the designer and/ or the defined project, externally.
  • Ensure that sketches are loaded into the internal software catalogue.
  • Strong 3D skills and knowledge of virtual tools are required
    • APP tools: Clo3D, Browzwear, VStitcher or similar 3D fashion design tools
    • FTW tools: Rhino, Modo, ICAD Pro, or similar 3D design tools

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE / MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA or MA in Graphic design or comparable education
  • Advanced computer skills on Apple Mac or PC (Adobe Illustrator, Freehand, Photo Shop)
  • graphic knowledge/ apparel product knowledge
  • High level of creativity
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years of experience in Graphic design
  • Fluent in English

*The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is ($96,400-144,600). Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate's experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.

*We officially returned to office in a hybrid work environment, working 3 days in office and 2 days remote. The working location of this position is Los Angeles, CA.
