Our underlying magic is that we provide a ‘We do it for you’ service model that makes it easy for funeral service providers to give families these meaningful creations quickly. Within 12 to 24 hours our photo books are sent to print, and our video tributes and stationery are available in time for the visitation. Speed, attention to detail, and caring service are the hallmarks of our success.

Our clients love MyBabbo and what we mean to them. After 10 years in the Canadian marketplace, we are eager to double our business over the next 18 to 24 months. This includes pursuing the U.S. market with a targeted expansion plan. To achieve this goal, we need talented people who want to join and contribute to this growth journey.

Who are we looking for?
MyBabbo is hiring a Senior HR Manager to design our HR department and develop our HR capacity. Thinking strategically as well as tactically, you will collaborate with the leadership team to build an operational system at the intersection of human resources and technology that will support our next level of growth. Leading with authenticity, you will guide the strategic thinking on a better path forward, building scalable HR operations.

While effectively recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and optimizing our team, you will also ensure that our workflow process and operations are as efficient as possible, developing and enabling our capacity to handle future growth. Your thinking will reside in a comprehensive Human Resources Plan for Next Level Growth that will include not only your strategic thinking but also an executional plan that will put in motion your key recommendations.

Working remotely, you value the flexibility of working from your own environment, while having developed efficient and productive work methods in a remote work environment. Every effort will be provided to ensure that you receive the proper guidance, support and mentorship when needed.

This is a 12 month Independent Contractor position to start, with flexible hours, 4 days per week, with a minimum of 24 hours per week.

Select Key Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop the Human Resource Plan for Next Level Growth
  • Outline the executional framework that will bring the plan to life
  • Design and lead the HR department including setting company HR objectives
  • Design and monitor HR metrics (cost-per-hire, turnover rate, etc)
  • Oversee all activities and material involved in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members
  • Continuously look for ways to improve and optimize our process for building our team
  • Introduce new ideas into our recruiting, hiring and onboarding processes that will increase our exposure and create an optimal new employee experience
  • Lead the optimization of MyBabbo’s training processes and knowledge transfer
  • Manage the training pipeline including upskilling of current team members, as well as new hires
  • Work with Happiness Managers to keep onboarding and training material up-to-date and accessible
  • Advise on issues related to HR
  • Design and implement company policies that promote a healthy work environment
  • Collaborate with the leadership team to evolve the business culture that fosters an environment for personal growth and development
  • Provide guidance on continuous improvement in all functional areas

Requirements

Profile of our ideal candidate:
You have:

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in a strategic Human Resources capacity
  • Successfully managed full-cycle recruitment, developing job descriptions and postings in partnership with managers articulating duties, responsibilities, skills and competencies required
  • Experience owning the hiring process including building interview guides and evaluation criteria
  • Demonstrated success in building effective onboarding experiences for new employees
  • Knowledge and experience with HRIS, and insight into how best to make use of technology for people and productivity management
  • Superior communication skills, and the ability to concisely document strategic thinking
  • Sound judgment and are able to identify strategically aligned solutions based on situational analysis and assessment
  • A continuous learning mentality, and are always interested in improving
  • A can-do attitude with success in delivering results to internal and external stakeholders holding customer service and team health as priorities

Nice to have:

  • Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation (or in process of completion)
  • Demonstrated success in designing an HR plan leading to company growth
  • Ability to speak French in a professional environment
  • Experience in the Funeral Home industry

Benefits

Payment details: $30/hour with a minimum of 24 hours / week.
