Senior iOS Engineer

We are looking for a passionate iOS Engineer to help take our insurance product's AR capabilities to the next level! This role is perfect for you if:

• Design, improve, and support internal and external augmented reality SDKs

• Develop clean, well-tested native iOS code that meets product needs

• Collaborate with the product engineering lead, product designers and AI team on building features for our insurance product

• Design and develop for potential new features

• Review other engineers' PRs and collaborate on best practices

• BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience 

• 3+ years of experience developing apps for iOS

• Strong understanding of iOS best practices and design guidelines

• Hands on skills with iOS development tools, including Reality Composer and Reality Converter

• Experience developing in Swift, Objective-C Runtime and other great tools to build smooth and stable products in the iOS environment 

• In-depth knowledge of iOS 3D/AR frameworks such as ARKit, Metal, SceneKit, and RealityKit

• Experience integrating with third party frameworks tools and SDKs, such as Moya, Alamofire, Argo, Object Mapper, and SDWebImage 

• Experience with camera API

• Experience in 3D graphics, real time graphics, or 3D math

• Full time availability (i.e. 40 hours a week) and flexibility during Yembo core hours (8:30am-2:30pm PDT)

• Comfortable with occasional but infrequent travel

• An interest and passion for AR/VR technologies

• Prior experience with new product development and building high performance code for new applications

• Broad and deep expertise in multiple computer languages and frameworks (i.e. open source)

• Prior technical integration experience

• Prior work using Computer Vision, especially in an iOS environment & framework

In your first 1 month, you'll:

• Gain familiarity with our workflow, tech stack and tools. Ramp up on existing product features and solutions.

• Meet with the key members of the engineering and AI teams so you are familiar with who is responsible for the main products at Yembo.

• Have your first code on production.

In your first 3 months, you'll:

• Begin collaborating with the product team on new product features and be able to complete Jira tickets independently

• Collaborate with our AI team, product designers, and engineers and proactively unblock as needed.

• Be 70% autonomous in your onboarding. Your PRs should pass our coding standards and be able to be approved within a few days.

• Gain additional familiarity with our current product offerings and industry landscape.

In your first 6+ months, you'll:

• Be a product expert on the features you are working on for our iOS app.

• Successfully launch and create a presence for the app on the Apple Store with a view to launch a white labelled app.

• Autonomously own a feature on our iOS app end to end, and comfortably manage development, testing, and documentation.

• Be able to complete tasks and problem solve autonomously.

• Communicate opinions on our product roadmap in areas that you’ve worked on.
