The Senior Manager - Database, Middleware & Cloud Platform for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for leading a group responsible for our hybrid cloud environment, encompassing databases, middleware, and ERP-related systems for the company's global operations.

This hybrid position is part of the IT department located in Brea, California. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Database, Middleware & Cloud Platform team and report to the Director, Enterprise Application and Data Platforms responsible for overseeing our ERP, Integration and BI technical environments. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Lead multiple related teams, develop departmental priorities, and strategically distribute resources to align with business goals, IT Strategy, and annual plan
  • Provide technical leadership and vision for the ongoing transformation of our ERP environment towards more cloud- and SaaS-based systems, keeping abreast of current technology trends
  • Maintain high-availability services along with a regular cadence of project deployments, enhancements, fixes, and ad hoc requests, solving complex operational and organizational problems
  • Build the operational excellence of the offshore support team, improving productivity and quality while keeping systems and assets secure
  • Cultivate diversity and inclusiveness with senior IT leaders and HR business partners, drive engagement actions with team members, understand their career goals, and continuously coach to advance those goals
  • Develop and sustain strong and trusted relationships with other company leaders, working with them to prioritize initiatives, manage risk and control financial impacts

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of computer science or business administration with 14+ years of experience OR Master's/Doctoral degree with 12+ years of experience
  • Related experience including 4+ years managing people
  • Strong project and program management capabilities, with the ability to clearly specify and adhere to resource requirements and commitments across internal and external customers
  • Superior analytical and evaluative abilities applied to proactively solving problems and navigating complex situations
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to persuade managers and leaders to act and/or negotiate with external partners/vendors, as well as cascade the core messages to multiple levels and functions
  • Experience with some or all of the following: Oracle database/RAC/Exa technologies, Oracle EBS, data warehouses, ETL processes, AWS/Azure/OCI provisioning, performance monitoring and tuning, patching and upgrade processes, database backup/DR/replication/restore processes, data modeling, data center management, SOx/PCI/GxP or other compliance requirements, managing budgets, vendor negotiations

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in which you can work part-time at the Company location identified above and part-time remotely from your home. The salary range for this role is $155,000 to $180,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
