Description:

We are looking for a highly knowledgeable and experienced Senior IT Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in IT disciplines such as C/C++, Java, .NET, COBOL using DB2, CICS, and MQ Series, LDAP, J2EE, and Database APIs. This seasoned individual will have a deep understanding of these technologies and require minimal start-up support. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide highly technical and specialized guidance and solutions to complex IT problems.
• Conduct elaborate analyses and studies to identify and resolve IT issues.
• Prepare detailed reports and deliver presentations on findings and recommendations.
• Work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
• Serve as a contractor Project Manager when required, overseeing project execution and delivery.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective and efficient IT operations.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating new knowledge into practice.
• Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices.

Required Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with the following technologies:
• Programming languages: C/C++, Java, .NET, COBOL
• Databases: DB2
• Middleware: CICS, MQ Series
• Directory services: LDAP
• Frameworks: J2EE
• Database APIs
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform complex analyses and studies.
• Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and delivering compelling presentations.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in project management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to IT challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Relevant certifications in IT technologies and platforms.
• Experience in a project management role.
• Knowledge of IT security best practices.
• Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic IT environment.

Education and requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum Five (5) years of related experience.

Minimum Eligibility:

• Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).
• Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least three (3) years, and Federal Tax compliant.
