Senior Landscape Designer / Project Lead Location:Austin, TX (In-Person, East Side Studio) Type:Full-time | Salary Commensurate with Experience Experience Required:5+ years Industry:Residential Landscape Architecture – Design + Build Urgently Hiring About Us We are a boutique landscape architecture design + build firm based in Austin, TX. We are a small, focused team passionate about design excellence, craftsmanship, and integrity at every phase—from concept through construction. The Opportunity We are looking for a Senior Landscape Designer or Landscape Architect with 5+ years of experience to lead project design and delivery alongside the firm principal. This position requires both creative vision and technical command, as well as the ability to coordinate across disciplines and manage design and construction workflows. This is a full-spectrum role: you’ll be involved in concept development, client presentations, construction detailing, lighting and drainage design, consultant and contractor coordination, and on-site construction administration. We’re looking for a candidate who is organized, proactive, and comfortable leading multiple projects from schematic design through build-out. Key Responsibilities • Lead and manage design phases—from conceptual design through construction documentation. • Produce detailed site plans, planting plans, grading/drainage plans, lighting design, and construction details. • Collaborate with clients, internal team members, and external consultants including architects, engineers, arborists, and permitting agencies. • Coordinate closely with our site superintendent and subcontractorsto maintain design integrity throughout construction. • Manage project timelines, deliverables, and design documentation across multiple active jobs. • Assist in preparing take-offs, budgets, and cost estimates during pre-construction. • Participate in internal design charrettes and help shape project narratives and presentations. • Maintain a strong understanding ofmaterials, planting design, and architectural context. • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and collaborators throughout the project lifecycle. What We’re Looking For • 5+ years of experience in a landscape architecture or landscape design role (residential or design-build preferred). • Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site execution. • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator). • Experience with SketchUp (Rhino or Revit a plus). • Excellent graphic and visual communication skills, including presentation plan and perspective rendering. • Experience with grading, drainage, and lighting design. • Self-directed, organized, and capable of managing multiple concurrent projects. • Strong design sensibility with an ability to work across a range of aesthetics. • Comfortable in a dynamic, collaborative, small-studio environment. • Experience with construction administration or on-site project management is a major plus.
