Senior Manager, ASIC Chip Lead

As a senior manager in Micron's ASIC Group, you will have a key role in technical and managerial direction to projects in ASIC development. Often directs and may participate in the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Develops and maintains specifications and provides planning resources and tool requirements. Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Prepares and presents reports outlining the future of technical projects and makes recommendations for actions necessary to achieve desired results. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Position Description:

• Collaborate with internal/external customer(s) on ASIC requirements understanding the constraints of the system, board, package, and validation/characterization environments.
• Lead the Logic Design team and pair with Architect, Modeling, Analog, Design Verification, P&R, Firmware designers to ensure smooth interface between Digital and Analog circuits, project execution and SoC integration.
• Design and develop RTL for high speed SERDES including blocks such as calibration logic, equalization, adaptation, auto-negotiation, BER eye monitor, clock domain crossing etc
• Convert Architecture specification to Micro-architecture specification, implement logic functions in RTL using Verilog/System Verilog
• Test design using formal verification tools and functional verification environment.
• Work with Pre/Post-silicon verification teams to test, debug and root-cause RTL simulation/Silicon/FPGA failures.
• Write scripts to automate design tool flows as required to improve efficiency.

Skills Required:

• Experience Required: 8+ Years
• The position requires good written & verbal communication skills as well a strong dedication and ability to work in cross functional and globally dispersed teams.
• Collaborate with functional managers and program managers to assure accurate flow and efficiency of the design and maintain accurate resources throughout all phases of the project.
• Serdes (Serializer/Deserializer) Design and RTL development experience
• Good knowledge of digital logic design, IP/SoC architecture and microarchitecture experience
• Working knowledge of Synthesis, Static Timing & Constraints, Lint & CDC
• Working knowledge of scripting using cshell, python, tcl
• Experience in high speed FPGA RTL porting, IO mapping, synthesis, timing closure is a plus
• PhD, M.S./M.Tech, BS/BE (Electronics)
