We’re looking for a Sr. Manager, Data Engineering to join the Enterprise Data and Insight team within Amplitude. You will be part of a team who is building Amplitude’s Data infrastructure from the ground up with all cloud technology stack. As a hands-on manager, this is a great opportunity to build world class data and analytics infrastructure to enable data democratization and data driven decision making.
As a Sr. Manager, Data Engineering you will:Â
- Design, build and maintain Data and Analytics infrastructure that is highly scalableÂ
- Design and build data architecture and data models to enable Single Source Of Truth
- Design and build data pipelines using Fivetran, dbt Snowflake and Airflow including end to end observabilityÂ
- Develop and maintain data documentation including ERD, data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata
- Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing appropriate data validation and cleansing techniques
- Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines to identify and resolve issues in a timely manner
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, engineering, and data science teams to understand their data needs and design efficient solutions to support their requirements
You'll be a great addition to the team if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems or similar, or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience; 3+ years of data architecture and modeling experience
- 3 years of experience as a manager, hiring and mentoring data engineers
- Experience with modern data integration and transformation tools such as Fivetran, Dbt, and Matillion
- Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow
- Strong understanding of MPP databases like Snowflake, Redshift and BigQuery
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure and GCP
- Experience working with tools like Jira and Confluence
- Experience with SQL and Python
- Good knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts such as facts and dimensions to design and develop data models that support enterprise reporting and analytics needs
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team environment

Based on Colorado law, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Colorado. Colorado range: $149,000 - $223,000.
Based on legislation in New York City, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in New York City. New York City salary range: $165,000 - $248,000 total target cash.
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in San Francisco Bay Area of California. Salary range: $165,000 - $248,000.
Based on legislation in California, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in California outside of the San Francisco Bay Area. California salary range: $149,000 - $223,000.
Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington state. Washington salary range: $149,000 - $223,000 total target cash.
Based on legislation in Washington state, the following details are for individuals who will work for Amplitude in Washington only: unlimited PTO, 10 to 13 holidays annually (will vary), medical dental and vision PPO and CDHP plans. Finally, a company sponsored 401(k) retirement plan.
