Job Description
Spyre Therapeutics (NASDAQ: SYRE) is a biotechnology company aiming to address the needs of the millions of people living with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) by advancing potentially best-in-class long-acting antibodies, rational therapeutic combinations, and precision immunology approaches. The company's two parallel lead programs—SPY001 and SPY002—target ɑ4β7 and TL1A, respectively, and build upon the validation of these targets by existing commercial- and clinical-stage antibody therapeutics. The company’s SPY001 program entered the clinic in June 2024 and the other lead program, SPY002, is projected to enter clinical studies in 2024.
Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, Finance position is a highly impactful role, working closely with key stakeholders across the business and Finance leadership. It plays a pivotal role in driving business success and operates under the direct supervision of the VP, Finance & Investor Relations. The role involves supporting strategic and operational initiatives, delivering financial and business insights, and creating and improving existing forecasting & reporting methods. Its primary aim is to influence decision-making within the organization and spearhead cross-business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist key business leaders in developing and refining a high-quality forecast, budget, and long-range plan for specified R&D functions. Understand and clearly communicate drivers of variances to leadership
- Conduct thorough and regular financial analyses, performing scenario-based financial analysis as the Company considers strategic investment decisions
- Actively provide analytical support and participate in Spyre’s short-term and long-term forecasting process, including ad-hoc analyses and presentations
- Consolidate and prepare management reporting package(s) of operational and financial results, with a key focus on improvements as business needs evolve; manage future state reporting processes across the FP&A team
- Drive implementation and management of new prospective Financial Planning system
- Proactively identify and implement improvements to existing methods and procedures, with the goal to increase actionable insights & efficiency
- Partner closely with the Controllership team on key process interfaces including the Company accrual process and quarterly earnings
- Collaborate with members of the Finance team & other functional leaders, ensuring timelines, activities, and assumptions are aligned across workstreams
- Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field. Master’s degree within related discipline is a plus.
- 5-7 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Consulting, or related field
- A combination of experience may be considered but preference for previous finance & accounting work within a Biopharma company, and/or Investment Banking or public accounting experience
- Superior analytical and modeling skills, very comfortable with advanced Excel
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, and other financial planning software, with preference for experience in implementation and/or with Adaptive.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with ability to coordinate complex processes with multiple stakeholders across the organization
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and thoughtful, able to tease out key insights and understand second and third order implications of decisions
- Experience with financial statement analysis and an understanding of corporate finance concepts and processes
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Programming, data analytics, data management, or similar experience a plus

The expected salary range offer for this role is $168,000 to $184,000. Actual pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, experience, education, and geographic location.Â
