About your Role
- You lead the development, extension and commercialisation of digital solutions in the natural catastrophe space. These solutions support our clients to grow their business and boost their profitability and efficiency.
- Define the solution strategy; make sure the voice of the client is heard; bring all relevant internal and external partner together to build, market, sell, and deliver the solution; and take ownership for the implementation of the product with the client.
- Constantly seek to improve and extend our solutions offering with innovative data, methodologies, analytics, and proof the concept of your ideas with prototypes.
About the Team
Our team offers solutions to our clients in the Property area. We help our clients with risk intelligence (e.g. CatNetβ’), risk assessment (e.g. NatCat Modelling Engine) and product innovation (e.g. Parametric platform) and operations (e.g. real-time flood assessment). Our focus is the consumer need.

About You
We are looking for YOU - communication, influencing skills are in your nature and understanding natural catastrophes is your passion! Taking an initiative over topics and contributing actively to the team spirit. Understanding clients' needs and delivering effectively in global, cross-functional environment.
- Strategic and demonstrated entrepreneurial demeanour. Experience in managing a product is an advantage.
- Degree in quantitative science (preferably natural sciences) or equivalent work experience.
- Several years of experience in quantitative natural perils model development and its application. Hands on experience in Property (re)insurance and in-depth knowhow of natural catastrophe risk assessment, including the products currently available in the market.
- Profound overview of emergent topics (new data sets, new products) in the NatCat and Property space and you know the relevant players.
- Available for occasional business trips.
- Proficient in English with project and partner management skills.
Nice to have
- Proficiency in other languages is a plus.
- Coding in various environments (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB, PowerBI, ESRI ArcGIS) and bringing a sound background in data analytics and analytical problem-solving skills.

For Armonk, NY, and New York City, the estimated base salary range for this position is $143,000 to $256,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget. At Swiss Re, we take a "total compensation approach" when making compensation decisions. This means that we consider all components of compensation in their totality (such as base pay, short-and long-term incentives, and benefits offered), in setting individual compensation.
