Senior Network Security Administrator

Job Description

ASRC Federal is looking for a Senior Network Security Engineer to provide the technical expertise and operational support necessary to implement, maintain, and support network security for the Department of State's Foreign Service Institute's (FSI) network.

Responsibilities

• Configure and Maintain NetVCR Appliances for packet inspection of http and https web server connections to LMS software applications
• Configure, Implement, Monitor and Maintain Cisco Next Generation Firewall systems and Cisco Next Generation Intrusion Protection Systems (IPS) for protection of FSI DIN systems and FSI distance learning initiatives
• Configure and maintain Cisco IPS and NetVCR IPS Systems with current signatures, settings, current operating systems, reporting configuration settings, and connectivity settings
• Configure, Implement, Monitor and Maintain F5 ASM (Application Security Manager) security software modules for packet inspection of http and https web server
• Review, assess, and implement backbone system security optimizations for Firewall Syslogs, Cisco IDS logs, NetVCR IDS logs, F5 Load balancer ASM logs, CSACS logs
• Prepare Weekly security report
• Verify backup of firewall configuration, verify backup of IPS configuration, review monitoring server for disk space, and review monitoring server for successful backup, verify timestamp on firewall and IPS
• Review Cisco Secure Access Control System authentication logs
• Prepare ad-hoc network security event notifications as required related to emerging security events

Requirements

Qualifications

• Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or five additional (5) years of experience
• Required/Desired Knowledge/Experience:
• Must have a minimum of five (5) years professional experience in relevant field
• Prefer Cisco CCNA certification
• Engineering experience with CISCO Routers and Switches
• Experience maintaining and configuring Cisco switches, Cisco routers, VLANs, and multicasting technologies
• Experience with DMZ security infrastructures and defense in depth security engineering principles

• Expertise in assessing security posture, reviewing security events, and creating security monitoring reports
• Experience with security monitoring systems, ideally Niksun NetVCR, Cisco IPS appliances, Cisco ASA firewall systems, and F5 ASM
• Experience with Microsoft Windows client/server environment
• Significant experience as a member of a team and directly assisting end-user clientele, positive interpersonal skills, and a customer-service orientation

• Required Clearance:
• Active Secret Security Clearance
