Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

We are seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) who can deliver expert database management, performance optimization, and seamless migration of Oracle databases to AWS solutions.
The ideal candidate will bring solid experience in Oracle database performance tuning via AWR, migration from EC2 to AWS RDS for Oracle, scripting, and designing backup/restore and partitioning strategies.

Responsibilities

• Optimize database performance through analytical use of AWR reports
• Resolve database performance bottlenecks
• Implement established best practices for database tuning
• Plan and execute Oracle database migrations from EC2 to AWS RDS for Oracle
• Maintain robust migration scripts to facilitate smooth transitions
• Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime during migrations
• Develop and implement comprehensive backup and restore strategies
• Maintain and monitor backup procedures for data safety
• Conduct regular backup tests and audits to ensure data restore capabilities
• Assess and recommend effective partitioning strategies for performance optimization
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented partitioning schemes
• Provide expert guidance on database partitioning practices
• Manage installations, configurations, and upgrades for Oracle databases
• Monitor and maintain database health, performance, and security
• Collaborate with development teams to support database-related project activities

• Solid experience as an Oracle DBA with a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture and administration
• Hands-on expertise in utilizing AWR for performance tuning and optimization
• Demonstrated ability managing Oracle database migrations from EC2 to AWS RDS for Oracle
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, PL/SQL, and Python for database management and automation
• Strong knowledge of backup and restore strategies and applicable tools
• Experienced in employing database partitioning techniques and strategies
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail
• Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level
