Job Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

• Maintain relationships with photo agencies, and negotiate fees and image rights
• Responsible for photo buying for both print and web
• Compile monthly usage reports for agencies, and maintain budget spreadsheets
• Follow analytics of photos we purchase to see what stories are tracking best
• Occasionally commission photography, working with our freelance
• photographers, editors and reporters on breaking and other news coverage.
• Responsible for researching, licensing, and editing/ preparing photos for
• publication across both sites, and multiple platforms, fielding a high volume of photo requests daily under tight deadlines
• Work closely with the editorial team to illustrate various stories/features and pitch interesting photos
• Create unique photo content including large format galleries and composite art for various platforms across both brands
• Cover on-call shifts for off-hour photo needs (nights/weekends) and provide photo support for award shows and other special live events off-hours

II. Essential Job Functions

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education: College Degree
Experience: 5-7 years experience buying/negotiating paparazzi photos
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Vast knowledge of & relationships with photo agencies and pricing structures as well as licensing terms
• Possess an interest and knowledge of photography and a strong eye for photo selection
• Excellent Photoshop skills (must be proficient in retouching techniques such as color correcting, layer masking, image sizing, and attention to fine details)
• Proficient in Adobe Suite, CMS (WordPress a plus), DAM, Agency relations
• Must be a problem solver! Quick thinking and resourceful; be able to work autonomously with the capability to prioritize multiple projects with fast turn-around times
• Knowledge of photo rights and permissions for print and digital use
• Excellent interpersonal skills and confident in communicating internally and
• externally
• Knowledge of and interest in pop/celebrity culture and other topics covered on
• People.com/EW.com
• Schedule flexibility and willingness to work some early mornings, nights,
• weekends, and holidays.

Pay Range
Salary: $72000 - $90000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
