We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to help us bring AI and security together, enabling our users to achieve unparalleled productivity. You will have the opportunity to contribute to Microsoft Security Copilot, the next evolution of AI, Security, Compliance, and Identity products in our organization.

Our design team is a highly collaborative group of user researchers, Responsible AI researchers, content, and product + visual designers. We value creativity, open idea sharing, and having fun while we work. Most of all, we're motivated by our users and the potential that AI has to improve global security . We are ambitious in our approach to AI and expect the same from everyone we work with.

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer that can conceptualize the big picture, has a clear understanding of AI and its capabilities, as well as be able to drive detailed design development. You should have a proven record of innovative thinking, a history of using design to drive new ideas , and the ability to help others to make the right design decisions. You will help us define the visual look and feel of the product , refine design patterns and components, and work with designers across Microsoft to align and inform our design language and expression.

In this role, you will work with other designers, product managers, and engineers to create forward thinking designs that are user scenario driven and meet business goals. You will identify user centered design patterns, establish scenarios, place designs into user context and create interactions that align to those requirements. You will need to show attention to detail and passion in the work you produce.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors or Master's Degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design , Product Desi gn , Human Computer Interacti on, or related field AND 5+ years of experience working in product o r service desi gn
    • OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design
    • OR equivalent experience (e.g., experience using design thinking to solve problems).
Other Requirements:
  • The ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Deep knowledge of design, with strengths in visual design principles, interaction design, prototyping, and/or front-end development
  • Understands how to utilize design specialties and how/when to integrate with partnering teams (PM, engineering, marketing, brand, and content teams)
  • Customer-centric mindset with experience turning abstract design concepts into reality.
  • Experience creating design systems, style guides, component libraries, and technical frameworks
  • Firm grasp of Figma for design and prototyping
  • Learn-it-all approach
  • Willingness to question established thinking in pursuit of better outcomes.
  • Ability to evangelize design thinking with product team
Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.

Responsibilities:

  • You will create wireframes, journey maps, prototypes and detailed mockups to iterate on product scenarios and effectively communicate design concepts, interactions , and fi n al designs to stakeholders and partners.
  • You will work with the Visual Design and Expression team and brand guidelines to establish look and feel for the product.
  • You will create and manage design toolkits, product assets, in teraction models, data visualization , design systems, and more for the project. You'll develop these with cooperation from other designers on the team, and mentor ing others on their application
  • You will communicate with cross-disciplinary teams across all stages of design and development through compelling storytelling and feedback.
  • You will collaborate with design, researach, program managers, and developers to define product features. You'll create engaging experiences by deeply understanding customer needs, working within engineering constraints, and challenging design and engineering limitations when appropriate.
  • You'll p rovid e guidance to other designers and engineers when it comes to implementation , ensuring your design vision is realized in code .
  • You will independently manage multple projects end-to-end. You o wn your own timelines and deliverables, guide production, and communicate evolving project goals.
  • You r e ceive and prioritize incoming projects, finding meaningful balance between optimizing for speed, quality, and doing risky but inter e sting work.
  • You u nderstand strategic business goals , focus work around objectives and key results , and guid e team members in that strategy, alig n ment, analysis, and execution of tasks.
  • You s tay up to date with emerging technologies, design trends, and industry best practices, proactively suggesting and implementing improvements to our design processes and tools .
