Job Description
Cobalt was founded on the belief that pentesting can be better. Our pentests start in as little as 24 hours and integrate with modern development cycles thanks to the powerful combination of a SaaS platform coupled with an exclusive community of testers known as the Cobalt Core. Accepting just 5% of applicants, the Core boasts over 400 closely vetted and highly skilled testers who jointly conduct thousands of tests each year.Â
Our award-winning, fully remote team is committed to helping agile businesses remediate risk quickly and innovate securely. Today, over 1,000 customers use Cobalt to run pentests on demand via Pentest as a Service, AKA PtaaS, a space which Cobalt pioneered (you could even say we wrote the book on it) and continues to lead.Â
DescriptionAll organizations need security testing for their software and Cobalt is building the world’s largest and smartest pentest management platform to help solve this challenge at scale.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who is energized by complex problems to solve, and thrives on customer input to iterate towards a solution. You will work with a team of exceptional engineers and designers to discover, research and deliver new features aimed at IT and Security teams as they seek to secure their digital assets.
You will merge attention to detail with the ability to understand and align business objectives, while working collaboratively with our GTM teams to gather customer insights, and you will instinctively seek to measure outcomes and readout to stakeholders on progress. Â
Initiative and curiosity are critical to this role - we will validate assumptions about our customers with qualitative and qualitative data to build a seamless experience. We build solutions to solve problems, and the Senior Product Manager is key, from inception to execution.
What You'll DoAs a member of a growing team of product managers your responsibilities include:
- Own the product strategy for your area, aligned with the product and company vision. Evangelize the vision to ensure stakeholder buy-in, and provide context on how team outcomes align with Cobalt’s company objectives.
- Identify and prioritize potential features in partnership with Sales, Marketing, Design, Engineering and Revenue Operations in a customer-centric and data informed approach.
- Measure success. Success measures are defined at the inception of a feature and tracked throughout its lifecycle. Work with Product Leadership and Revenue Operations to ensure a view of how initiatives impact the Cobalt business.
- Maintain an understandable, accurate roadmap focussed on the top problems to solve based on customer and market inputs. Make tough tactical prioritization decisions while enabling the company to think long-term. Build trust with stakeholders by articulating a clear product vision and strategy. Â
- Drive alignment and collaboration across teams. We win or lose as a team. Product managers are critical in their role, exposing design and engineering teams to their end users and stakeholders.
- Develop familiarity with information security, security operations, vulnerability disclosure, vulnerability management and other security domain areas.
- Become fluent in pentesting best practices. You are ready to discuss and demonstrate product details with developers, product designers, security operations, pentesters, customers and sales prospects.
- 5+ years experience in Product Management with demonstrated ability to discover new opportunities, define and deliver products.
- A growth mindset, with the ability to learn from others, be humble and be self aware of your own strengths and weaknesses. You can take feedback, coach others, and are prepared to be coached.
- Strong user and stakeholder empathy. You are the voice of multiple stakeholders such as marketing, finance, engineering, sales and customer success. You channel many points of view then prioritize to execute value in an agile fashion.
- The strong analytical and data-informed mindset with a bias for action. You are a creative thinker who has proven to build innovative, data-driven products. You are passionate about end user input. You have experience working with analytics services such as Google Analytics, Pendo, etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. You’re great at explaining highly technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences, with a talent for building empathy for user problems. You have the ability to encourage your team to build better products that deliver high customer value and drive strategic impact.
- Ability to communicate directly and clearly. You are a careful and active listener, and can demonstrate an ability to tune your communication style to suit the audience.
- A can-do attitude and the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with agile software development working with global team members.
With over 45 nationalities already at Cobalt (and counting) we respect and celebrate diversity! We’re proudly committed to equal employment opportunities regardless of your gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, or place of origin. We support each other and are grateful for each Cobalter's contribution to our mission — let's make security dance!Â
Please apply even if you don't think you meet all of the criteria above but are still interested in the job. Nobody checks every box, and we're looking for someone excited to join the team.
