Job Description
Permutive’s is a real-time data platform that empowers publishers and advertisers to address all of their audiences, whilst protecting consumer privacy and respecting user consent.
Our unique technology sits behind some of the world's largest publishers such as News Corp, Hearst, BuzzFeed, The Guardian, Conde Nast International to name a few — we enable them to understand and personalise user experiences for hundreds of millions of people every month.
You'll love working with us if you're excited about collaborating with brilliant colleagues, embracing autonomy and responsibility, and tackling challenges that will drive us forward. It’s a great time to join and become a key contributor in shaping Permutive for the future.
Thanks to our category-defining edge technology, we've attracted the attention of global investment partners like EQT Ventures, Octopus Ventures, ACE & Company, and SoftBank Investment Advisers. Additionally, we are listed among YCombinator’s Top 150 companies of all time.
About the role…
As the ad tech industry faces its biggest challenge yet with the collapse in addressability, lifestyle, behavioural and intent data is becoming scarce and inaccurate. We see a huge opportunity for publishers to fill in that gap and empower agencies and advertisers to continue reaching their target audience at scale.
In that context, we’re looking for a driven, action-oriented and business focused Senior Product Manager to own our Programmatic Solutions roadmap.
The core components of this role will involve...
- Building new products for publishers to make first party data available in the open marketplace
- Working with our data science team to enhance our modelling capabilities to scale publisher data into the ecosystem
- Partnering with ecosystem partners to make this data available to agencies and brands
- Evangelising the market on the value of publisher signals
On top of traditional product management skills and responsibilities (defining the product vision, managing the product throughout the product life cycle, working closely with engineering to deliver new features/functionalities), the role will require strong commercial skills including:
- Forging strong relationships with ad tech partners’ product teams and influencing their roadmap
- Providing insight and direction to senior stakeholders on the product and market
- Producing product marketing collateral
Success in this role will be measured against 3 key metrics:
- Product Delivery against timeline against each stage of the product life cycle
- Number of integrations with ecosystem partners
- Volume of impressions (and therefore revenue) against publisher signals
What you'll be doing...
- Establishing the vision for the product as well as building & managing the roadmap
- Building new products from MVP
- Setting up integrations with ecosystem partners
- Evangelising the market on the value of publisher signals
- Forging strong relationships with ad tech partners’ product teams and influence their roadmap
- Providing insight and direction to senior stakeholders on the product and market
- Working with partners at each stage of the product development cycle to help ensure the product has a strong market fit before release.
- Producing clear, well-scoped product requirements to help our team understand what customer problems we’re solving
- Working with our engineering teams to ensure predictable velocity, balancing feature development with quality and internal requirements
- Defining and analysing metrics so that we understand customer behaviour, gaps and opportunities
What you’ll need...
- Extensive experience in a Product management or Solutions/Sales engineering role for a technical product
- A deep understanding of RTB advertising protocols and standards, such as OpenRTB, Prebid.org, Google PPS and ESP/Secure Signals, and UID2
- Excellent communication skills, including the confidence to participate in very technical conversations, the ability to drive consensus and commitment, and the ability to crisply communicate delivery timelines, trade-offs, and risks to senior management.
- Grit and confidence: this is a nascent opportunity with multiple external stakeholders (Permutive, publishers, ad tech partners, agencies, advertisers). There may be multiple iterations of an MVP.
- Ability to build strong relationships with partners and collaborate on / influence their roadmap
- Entrepreneurial and commercially focused mindset to innovate
- Demonstrable experience of responsibility for defining, instrumenting, and owning commercial business metrics for a revenue-generating product.
- Experience in leading the delivery of new products from ideation through launch.
- Experience working cross-functionally with customer success, sales, and technical teams.
- Experience establishing the vision and plan for a product
We'd be even more excited if you have...
- Involvement in industry working groups (IAB Tech Lab or Prebid.org) nice to have.
What we are offering…
We take a structured, objective approach to salary-setting, which is based on market information, our compensation strategy, and your experience and capability as assessed through our interview process. For a typical candidate who meets our requirements, we pay a base salary between $175,000 - $195,000 with a 20% commercial performance-focused bonus.
