The Opportunity:

Product Management at TrueCar leads the integration of engineering, data science, and design to achieve the company’s vision for reinventing the car pricing and buying experience. As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll join our high-functioning product team where you’ll play a key role in driving the transformation of TrueCar's online car marketplace in order to realize our vision of dramatically improving the way people discover, buy, and sell cars. 

How you’ll contribute to TrueCar’s success:

  • Own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation through development, launch, and maintenance, collaborating with cross-functional teams including engineering, design and marketing
  • Define product requirements, features, and functionalities based on market needs and customer feedback
  • Ensure the deep understanding of customer needs through user research, feedback, and engagement
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, ensuring successful product launches
  • Communicate product plans, progress, and results to internal stakeholders, senior leadership and external partners
  • Maintain deep understanding of how various pieces of a project integrate together – including business logic, data, underlying algorithms, API layers, client-side logic, and user interface components
  • Understand and influence TrueCar’s strategic and competitive positions
  • Position the product effectively in the market, considering pricing, messaging, and differentiation
  • Manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way
  • Conduct market research to identify opportunities, analyze competitor products and stay abreast of industry trends
  • Based on data analysis, market research, and other studies, set team goals, success metrics, and roadmap to align with TrueCar’s mission and strategic objectives
  • Use data driven insights to make informed decisions and optimize product features
  • Effectively manage diverse stakeholder relationships
  • Weigh competing priorities, manage trade offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with stakeholders, working towards consensus while maintaining a clear focus on overarching business priorities
  • Prioritize features and enhancements based on business impact and customer value

Your Expertise: 

  • Proven success as a Product Manager in a B2C marketplace or Fintech environment
  • Experience with a VC-funded organization during a period of accelerated growth
  • Strong understanding of and direct experience with an engineering culture and what it takes to build technical products in an agile+scrum environment
  • Communication and Team Building Skills: You thrive in a dynamic, agile environment leading scrum team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Creative growth mindset: Proactively think creatively to define new experiences improving adoption, usage, and reengagement to drive to better business outcomes
  • Familiarity and comfort with data, including the ability to use data to analyze and monitor product health, set goals and metrics, as well as aid in the prioritization of initiatives and features
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills evidenced through a first principles thinking approach to problem solving and the ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and actions taken
  • Detail-oriented, but deftly balanced with holistic system-thinking
  • Entrepreneurial or small start-up experience a plus

Salary range: $155,000 - $225,000

As a crew member, you’ll be primarily based out of your home as a part of our Dynamic Workplace strategy.
