Senior Progress 4GL OpenEdge Developer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Progress 4GL OpenEdge Developer to join our project team.
As a key member of the development team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our suite of applications built upon the Progress 4GL OpenEdge Developer technology.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze, develop, and maintain OpenEdge applications in compliance with best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines
• Contribute to the upgrade process of the Progress 4GL OpenEdge tech stack to the latest version and upgrade of Red Hat Linux
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, coding, testing, and deployment preparation
• Work closely with progress development team and other stakeholders
• Ensure the integrity, reliability, and security of Progress 4GL OpenEdge databases
• Implement effective data modeling and schema design for optimal performance

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Progress 4GL OpenEdge Developer
• Comprehensive skills in Bash scripting for automation and system management
• Ability to perform system administration tasks related to the OpenEdge environment (including version upgrade)
• Experience managing and administering Progress 4GL OpenEdge databases
• Proficiency in database design, optimization, and performance tuning
• Familiarity with system monitoring, troubleshooting, IT networking and performance analysis
• Experience with Red Hat Linux operating systems
• Familiarity with shell commands, file manipulation, and process control
• Familiarity with GitLab / another version control and collaboration and automated deployment tools
