Senior Project Manager

Project Description

The Surveillance & Supervision Product Group supports the TDSecurities's requirements for Anti-Money Laundering transaction monitoring, Business Conduct management, Trade & Communication Surveillance as well as other Regulatory Compliance Governance requirements. The resource will be own one or more products within the group and will be responsible in delivering strategic and regulatory initiatives. The products are varied in technology and architecture including in-house developed java, python and other microservices, internally hosted, commercial off the shelf (COTS) solutions and managed service provider/Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings.

Responsibilities

- Partner with management to support the delivery of a product vision additionally create and maintain a product backlog and continuously re-prioritize user stories that will provide the most customer or end user value.
- Continuously align with senior management on the product delivery roadmap, defined Minimum Marketable Features or Minimum Viable Products and release cadence.
- Participate in scrum events (e.g. stand-ups, retrospectives), express new ideas for improving product value or delivery efficiency, sharing with leadership as appropriate.
- Create a value-focused product backlog and continuously iterate, ensuring there are user stories scoped and prioritized.
- Provide user story design, development and completion oversight; accepting / rejecting user stories based on the agreed upon Definition of Done and Acceptance Criteria.
- Manage delivery initiatives and oversee development team (pod) backlogs.
- Adhere to enterprise frameworks or methodologies that relate to activities for own business area / journey.
- Ensure on-going strategic alignment with senior management, providing feedback as appropriate.
- Consider development team and stakeholder feedback in backlog management, facilitating conversations with multiple stakeholders representing competing priorities.
- Actively communicate to business, technology and senior management regarding product changes and backlog priorities.
- Single point of escalation for development team, providing guidance and decisioning as needed.
- Define the OKRs in partnership with numerous stakeholders across the organization.
- Keep current on emerging trends/ developments and grow knowledge of the business, related tools and techniques.
- Contribute to team development of skills and capabilities through mentorship of others, by sharing knowledge and experiences and leveraging best practices.
- Communicate difficult concepts; converts information to compelling business context and advice; influences and gains alignment across increasingly senior stakeholders.
- The role also must ensure all of the Regulatory, Compliance, and Internal Audit obligations as identified by TD Securities Technology Risk Management/Information Security standards are met by the delivered solution.

Skills

Must have

- Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate.
- 7+ years relevant experience, with a minimum of 3 years as a Product Owner or Agile related delivery field.
- Strong computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structure and system design.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification and Product management experience considered an asset
- Strong analytical and critical thinking
- Ability to own technical delivery/reported issues to completion.
- Previous experience in Financial sector

Nice to have

- Understanding of Workflow Engines, Complex Event Processing Systems (e.g. TIBCO BusinessWorks, DataBricks, Drools).
- Understanding of Containerization
- SaaS solution integrations
- Business knowledge in one or more of the following areas preferred:
- Capital Markets (Familiarity with Asset Class and Products)
- Regulatory Compliance, Trade Surveillance or AML solutions experience.
Compensation for NY is 150000-200000 USD Gross per Year
