Position 250073 - Senior Project Manager with Process Specialist Background โ€“ Utility Industry Location: Onsite- San Antonio, TX. Candidate must live In a commutable distance to San Antonio, TX. Position Summary: We are seeking a seasonedSenior Project Managerwith a strong foundation inprocess improvement and business transformationto lead complex, cross-functional initiatives within the electric, water, or gas utility sector. The ideal candidate will combine project delivery expertise with deep knowledge of operational processes in regulated utility environments. This role will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives, leading large-scale technology or operational projects, and ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Project Management ยท Lead the end-to-end delivery of enterprise-level projects across utility domains (electric, water, gas). ยท Develop and manage project plans, budgets, resource allocation, risk mitigation strategies, and stakeholder communication. ยท Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, field services, regulatory, and external vendors/partners. ยท Ensure compliance with scope, time, quality, and cost requirements through disciplined project governance. ยท Prepare and present executive-level project updates, dashboards, and KPIs to stakeholders and steering committees. Process Improvement & Transformation ยท Analyze current-state operational processes and identify improvement opportunities across utility functions such as distribution, metering, asset management, customer service, or work management. ยท Facilitate business process reengineering (BPR), lean initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts. ยท Serve as a process lead or SME to design future-state workflows, ensuring alignment with system implementations (e.g., CIS, AMI, EAM, OMS). ยท Collaborate with business and IT teams to ensure that process and technology changes are well integrated and adopted. ยท Creation of Level 1- 2 Process Maps, RACI, and Decision-Making Guides ยท Process Maps (i.e., to Level 1) are associated with key phases of work to install customer-owned generators. o RACI and/or Decision-Making Tools o Develop and Facilitate RACI Tabletop working session with key stakeholders o Execution of communications and supporting collateral related to the deliverables ยท Develop & Propose Process Performance Metrics and SLAs. Process Performance Metrics and SLAs ยท Development of Playbook Document. Installation of Playbook Utility Industry Expertise ยท Leverage domain knowledge to guide project scoping, risk management, and stakeholder engagement specific to electric, water, or gas utilities. ยท Understand regulatory drivers (e.g., CPUC, FERC, NERC, PUCs) and how they influence project prioritization and compliance. ยท Bring experience with utility transformation programs such as grid modernization, decarbonization, digital metering, and asset lifecycle management. Required Qualifications ยท Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Business, Information Systems, or related field. ยท Minimum10 yearsof experience in project management and process improvement. ยท At least4 yearsof experience working in the electric, water, or gas utility industry. ยท Proven track record of managing multi-million-dollar utility programs or projects (e.g., AMI rollout, SAP/Oracle implementation, work management transformation). ยท Strong experience in business process analysis, documentation, and optimization. Preferred: ยท PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification. ยท Lean Six Sigma certification or formal process improvement training. ยท Familiarity with utility technologies such as: o Oracle Utilities (CC&B, WACS, MDM) o SAP IS-U o Maximo, ESRI, OMS/ADMS o AMI and SCADA systems ยท Experience with regulatory filings, rate cases, or utility compliance reporting.
