Senior Project Manager
Location:St. Louis, MO / Plano, TXRole Overview
This position involves leading and managing infrastructure upgrade projects, with a focus on building systems such as electrical, mechanical, and life safety. The role combines project engineering, construction oversight, and client consulting to ensure successful delivery of complex technical projects.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Leadership & Management
• Lead cross-functional teams and subcontractors to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Oversee all phases of project execution including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and communication.
• Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including documentation, evaluation, and contract awards.Engineering & Design
• Prepare technical designs, specifications, and drawings for the upgrade or replacement of building systems.
• Provide engineering oversight during construction, ensuring compliance with design and safety standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of installed systems including electrical, HVAC, fire protection, and security.Consulting & Owner Representation
• Conduct evaluations of existing building systems and recommend improvements or upgrades.
• Prepare technical reports outlining system conditions, required remedial actions, and cost estimates.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering strategic guidance and technical expertise.Pre-Construction & Procurement
• Develop RFPs with clear scope and contractual terms.
• Coordinate bid evaluations and manage vendor selection and onboarding.
• Ensure alignment between design intent and contractor execution.Operations & Support
• Provide ongoing technical support and vendor oversight post-project completion.
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate resolution efforts.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with local contractors and service providers.Candidate Profile
• Proven experience in project management and engineering within building infrastructure or data center environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and drive project success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related field required
• 5+ years applicable work experience
• Candidate must be technically proficient in planning and scheduling, and exhibit excellent organizational skills.
• Candidate must possess strong communication skills, the ability to lead coordination meetings and actively facilitate progress in order to achieve scheduled goals.
• Candidate must have a disciplined approach to managing task assignments. People skills, good judgment, and flexibility are critical to this position.
• Knowledge of construction planning, mechanical or electrical systems necessary, building controls, fire systems, security systems; experience in these areas a plus.
• Electrical industrial design experience is preferred.
• Ability to estimate projects using RS Means.
• Candidate will be able to work cooperatively with internal administration groups, and to deal directly with customers and contractors to reach mutually acceptable terms and conditions.
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project and Auto Cad is desired is required.
• Ability to travel across the U.S. based on project needs and ability to work flexible hours.
