The Role: We’re seeking a hands-on, impact-driven Senior Software Engineer with deep Python expertise to join our fast-growing team. You’ll design and build the backend infrastructure powering our AI-centric platform, with a focus on real-time systems, microservices, and scalable data processing pipelines. This is a senior-level role with technical ownership across multiple backend services and data flows. You’ll bring strong software engineering fundamentals, a bias for shipping, and a passion for building reliable systems that push the boundaries of AI integration. You’ll collaborate closely with product, frontend, and AI teams to shape the future of our platform. NOTE: Must be a Citizen or Green Card Holder and live in the United States Key Responsibilities: • Design and build scalable microservices, RESTful APIs, and WebSocket-based systems • Manage and optimize NoSQL-backed data storage for performance and reliability • Develop backend services for real-time communication, high-throughput ETL, and cross-service orchestration • Implement monitoring, tracing, and alerting for production systems • Champion code quality through TDD, CI/CD pipelines, and effective code reviews • Collaborate with AI and frontend teams to deliver seamless, AI-powered features • Ensure high standards of performance, security, and maintainabilityRequirements: Required Experience: • 7+ years building production-grade backend systems in Python • BS in Computer Science or related field (or 15+ years of overall software engineering experience) • Experience working with Django and Celery • Built and deployed WebSocket and event-based communication layers • Proficient in at least one NoSQL database • Solid understanding of best practices in building scalable and performant data access layers (using ORMs and beyond) • Experience with production monitoring and observability platforms • Track record working in fast-paced startup environments • Comfortable leveraging AI tools in the development lifecycle Nice to Haves: • Experience with RDBMs at scale • Experience building GenAI / LLM-backed products • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques • Experience optimizing backends for high concurrency and data throughput • Exposure to GraphQL or other modern API paradigms • Experience building SSR-based apps using HTMX or alike Benefits: • 401(k) • Employee assistance program • Health insurance • Life insurance • Paid time off • Retirement plan • Vision insurance
