Position:Â Senior QA Automation Engineer (Sr SDET)
Location: Austin, TX
Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 per year, benefits, equity options

Take Command is a start-up on a mission to improve the healthcare system, starting with health insurance. Pragmatically speaking, we help employers reimburse employees for individual insurance instead of offering a traditional one-size-fits-all group plan. What you'll do:
- Create detailed, step-by-step documentation of test procedures for each phase of the project to ensure replicability and compliance with standards
- Work closely with software developers to ensure features and products meet the desired level of quality
- Deliver quality products by thoroughly testing throughout all phases of the development life cycle using a combination of testing methods (functional testing, regression/integration testing, performance testing)
- Participate actively in understanding project plans and providing regular updates on milestones
- Enforce quality assurance processes, ensuring all technology practices adhere to best practice standards
- Write automated tests using Playwright and Cucumber
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
- Identify and implement improvements to test automation framework and CI/CD pipelines
- Take initiative and drive the implementation of a QA materials repository (repo of test cases, test steps)
- Work with the product team to organize and facilitate QA sessions, UAT, and production smoke-tests
- Participate in scrum meetings and ensure that proper documentation is created for test automation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Quality Assurance Automation Engineer
- 5+ years of experience developing automation frameworks in at least one of the OO languages - Java, Type script, Python and SQL
- 3+ years of experience in JMeter/Artillery/Postman or related tools for performance and API testing
- 3+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries with databases like Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.
- Demonstrated experience in building frameworks like BDD, Hybrid frameworks using Cucumber/Playwright, Cucumber/Selenium
- Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
- Experienced in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies
- Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills
