About Us We are a growing real estate firm with a strong reputation for professionalism and client service. As we expand, we are seeking a highly skilled and experiencedLead Accountantto oversee our accounting operations. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our financial processes, particularly in escrow and trust accounting. Position Summary TheLead Accountantwill be responsible for managing the firm’s accounting functions, with a focus onreal estate accounting, escrow ledgers, financial reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and compliance with state and federal regulations. This is afull-time, on-site positionbased in our office. The work schedule isMonday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and reconcileescrow account and necessary ledgersin compliance with real estate regulations. • Processpayments, deposits, and disbursementsaccurately and on schedule. • Overseeaccounts payable and receivable, including vendor management and expense tracking. • Preparemonthly, quarterly, and annual financial reportsfor leadership and regulatory purposes. • Monitor and ensure compliance with allreal estate trust account laws and accounting standards. • Supervise and supportaccounting team members, providing training and oversight. • Collaborate with leadership onbudgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. • Implement and improveinternal controls, accounting procedures, and software systems. • Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and regulatory agencies as needed. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degreein Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or advanced designation preferred). • 5+ years of accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in real estate accounting(escrow/trust accounting experience required). • Strong knowledge ofreal estate trust accounting laws and compliance requirements. • Proficiency withaccounting software(QuickBooks, Lone Wolf, Yardi, or similar) and Excel. • Experience supervising accounting staff or managing a small team. • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with leadership and staff.
