Job Description
I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.
The senior reporter is a nimble, tenacious journalist reporting and writing across multiple sections of the site and magazine. The ideal candidate is a true team player with a strong sense of urgency, a deep network of industry contacts and a keen eye for news and journalism ethics. Candidates must have experience with on-the-ground reporting, covering court hearings and be comfortable cold-calling police and emergency officials. The senior reporter will work closely with the West Coast Executive Editor to help identify and cover stories (often breaking) that require original reporting.
The senior reporter will be expected to write 3-5 digital stories a day, contribute to the weekly magazine and cover award shows and entertainment events. Occasional night and weekend work will be required.

Education: BA
Experience: 5 years minimum
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Digital news writing, reporting experience, deep knowledge of celebrity news, strong industry contacts, ability to work across platforms and verticals

Pay Range
Salary: $58800 - $84000
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
