Senior Research Associate

Job Summary

The Sr. Research Associate/Associate Scientist, disease modeling, is responsible for developing and executing novel cellular protocols and assisting in vivo disease modeling efforts within Therapeutic Team. This individual will perform cell line engineering and build an extensive repertoire of scalable cellular and in vivo models for multiple disease indications. This position includes technically diverse bench work and the training of research staff in techniques and equipment used to support drug validation.

What you will accomplish

• Cell line engineering
• Design and perform in vitro and in vivo experiments for disease modeling
• Support the development of assay strategies and work across functions in experimental design, troubleshooting, sample analysis, data interpretation, and report generation
• Perform assays such as but not limited to FACS, flow cytometry, ELISA, RT-qPCR, and ddPCR
• Develop, author, and maintain SOPs/ELN
• Support iPSC culturing and differentiation as needed

Qualifications

• BS in related discipline + >5 years or MS in related discipline+ >3 years experience, in an academic or biotech, biopharma, pharmaceutical industry.

Technical Requirements and Skills:

Proficient working knowledge and experience in any of the following:

• In depth of research experience in cell and molecular biology and assay development
• Experience with cell line engineering (using CRISPR)
• Strong skills in molecular biology (including DNA and RNA extraction, PCR, and qPCR)
• Familiar with molecular cloning, gene engineering, and seamless cloning
• Technical experience with primary cell culture and cell culture of immortalized cell lines and stem cells
• Both 2D and 3D (organoid) cell culture and assay experience
• Experience in characterizing cellular phenotype via multi-color flow cytometry, transcriptomics, or high-content imaging
• Experience with lab automation for the cell-based screening assay and sample preparation

The salary range for this position is $100,000 USD to $120,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data, including potential adjustments for geographic location.
