Senior Ruby Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Ruby Developer to join our team in a senior role.
The successful candidate will be pivotal in leading a team of developers, driving the technical decision-making process, and ensuring the effective delivery of software solutions that align with business objectives.
This role demands robust technical expertise in Ruby, a proven leader with a strong track record in mentoring and advising teams, and a proactive approach to stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of developers in crafting high-quality software solutions using Ruby
• Engage with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with business goals
• Drive the technical decision-making process, ensuring optimal solutions are reached efficiently
• Oversee the full software development lifecycle from conception and design through development, testing and deployment
• Ensure adherence to best practices in coding, testing and maintenance within the team
• Participate in occasional business trips to Medellin for strategic planning and team-building initiatives

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Ruby Developer, with substantial time spent in a leadership or senior developer role
• Profound knowledge of Ruby programming and its associated frameworks
• Proficiency in facilitating technical decision-making and leading development projects
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies and lifecycle
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with various internal stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience as a GoLang developer and openness to contribute to development tasks beyond Ruby as needed
• Experience working in a multicultural environment with teams distributed across different geographies
• Scrum or similar agile methodology
