Role Overview

As a Senior Sales & Solutions Engineering Manager, you will drive the development and execution of advanced technical solutions, supporting both pre-sales and technical initiatives oriented to provide our customers with the appropriate end product. This role demands a strategic thinker with hands-on engineering expertise, a strong customer focus, and excellent communication skills. Experience in wholesale data centers, colocation, interconnection, cloud, managed services, or critical environments (e.g., nuclear plants, hospitals) is strongly preferred.

This role requires a proactive approach to build and maintain strong customer relationships and to continuously enhance Vantage’s solutions capabilities

Key responsibilities

• Support Sales and Solutions Engineering in pre-sales, particularly with hyperscale cloud customers.
• Lead the technical aspects of the RFP process in collaboration with other Vantage teams.
• Create proposal templates integrating Vantage’s latest schematics, diagrams, and features.
• Provide technical support and coordinate client capacity requirements with VDC capabilities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of development schedules across EMEA
• Proactively grow the Solutions Engineering function to meet VDC and customer needs.
• Prepare and deliver technical proposals, architectural designs, and facility tours.
• Drive sales opportunities by designing and proving technology solutions tailored to customer needs.
• Conduct product feature-benefit discussions specific to Vantage data center offerings.
• Engineer solutions that optimize costs and enhance operational efficiencies.
• Assess customer IT environments, including network, power, cooling, and space needs.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering 
• Proven expertise in designing critical infrastructure or data centers.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with remote and in-person teams.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to understand and communicate the bigger picture.
• Skilled in multitasking, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Committed to continuous improvement and understanding of the data center industry
