- This position pays between $17.95 - $21.35/hr based on experience
The Senior Specialist of Self-Pay Operations is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the self-pay collections process, including managing bad debt inventory and placements, acute and PRC inventory, and statement holds and volumes. This role involves ensuring accurate billing, improving collection strategies, and providing detailed analysis and reports to leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in healthcare billing and collections, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to providing excellent quality for our clients.
Essential Job Functions:
Manage Self-Pay Accounts: Oversee the self-pay accounts receivable process to ensure accounts are moving through the self-pay life cycle as designed.
Bad Debt Management: Handle bad debt inventory management, placements, and returns. Reconcile bad debt transactions and manage vendor recall requests.
Acute and PRC Inventory Management: Oversee the management of acute and PRC (Physician Revenue Cycle) inventory.
Deceased Account Review: Conduct reviews of deceased accounts to ensure proper handling and resolution.
Statement Holds Review: Review and resolve statement holds to ensure timely billing and collections.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and analyze reports on self-pay aging performance, including ATB (Aged Trial Balance) review summaries for leadership and external teams. Identify opportunities that impact aging self-pay AR (Accounts Receivable).
Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in self-pay operations.
Compliance: Ensure all billing and collections activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
Team Leadership: Contribute to a dynamic work environment by acting as a subject matter expert and providing team assistance as needed.
