**This position may require working irregular hours, split shifts, weekends, holidays, as well as working after designated regular hours for special assignments or emergencies**Provides advanced-level planning and design development for major high-visibility customer signage and environmental graphic design projects for the delivery of major capital projects and signage related start-up activities for new transit corridors, including bus and rail fleet and the construction of stations, facilities, and other projects to provide patrons with the information needed to navigate Metro's systems.Recruitment Timelines: Interviews are projected to be scheduled for the week of August 11, 2025. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Plans, conceptualizes, designs, refines, and produces advanced-level environmental graphic design work for stations, facilities, and vehicles to ensure continuity and integration of Metro's Environmental Graphic Design Systemwide Standards into the construction of the customer environment Plans and designs signage and environmental graphic design solutions from concept to completion Schedules and coordinates project deliverables with project team, including staff and consultants, to ensure deadlines are met Works with multidisciplinary Planning, Architecture, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Civil Rights, ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act), Safety, Security, and Fleet Acquisition teams to incorporate environmental graphic design, signage and wayfinding Investigates and resolves advanced level design problems by undertaking substantive research and analyzing data in order to find the best creative solutions Plans and designs for a wide range of mediums, including static and digital signage, as well as, high visibility fleet graphics and exterior/interior styling and branding Evaluates plans and design solutions for customer environments Works with signage production designers to ensure integrity of project production files Writes and edits copy for integration into plans, signage, signage standards, and other visual communications Prepares and makes visual presentations for management-level staff using a variety of software, mockups, and/or samples Recommends optimal advanced level environmental graphic design solutions for multi-faceted plans and projects in conformance with Metro design standards and all regulatory codes Reviews and comments on construction plans, drawings, specifications, shop drawings, samples, materials, and finishes for compliance with Metro's Environmental Graphic Design Systemwide Standards and guidelines Prepares advanced-level designs for fabrication by assembling finished design concepts, creating printable PDF files, and providing fabrication instructions Provides senior-level reviews and approvals of proofs and materials Performs senior-level audits of stations, facilities, and vehicles to determine prime locations based on key navigation points Trains and mentors designers, entry-level trainees, and interns Contributes to ensuring that the EEO (Equal Employment Opportunity) policies and programs of Metro are carried out May be required to perform other related job duties
