Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our dynamic team. The Systems Reliability Engineering (SRE) team helps Imagineers create and deliver the software solutions that power experiences in our theme parks and resorts. Systems Reliability Engineers use a software engineering approach to architect, design, automate, monitor, and build applications at scale. This includes operating and engineering software with close business segment alignment to deliver platforms through efficient, effective and resilient architectures. SREs are talented engineers that are focused on improving quality through a data driven approach: instrumentation, automation, and functional/unit testing. Core Must Haves 1) Linux system admin and Windows but willing to consider only Linux backgrounds. 2) At least 1 programming language (Go, Python, Ruby) 3) Cloud skills and Public Cloud hosting background Duties • Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform. • Experience with CI/CD Platforms (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) • Collaborate with development teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or GitHub. • Monitor system performance using tools like New Relic and Splunk; perform log analysis to identify issues. • Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform, Ansible, or Chef. • Troubleshoot software issues across various environments including Linux, Windows Server, and UNIX. • Implement disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability. • Manage databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or DynamoDB; optimize queries for performance. • Ensure security best practices are followed in cloud infrastructure and application deployments. • Participate in incident management processes; respond to outages and service disruptions promptly. • Document processes, procedures, and system configurations for knowledge sharing. Requirements • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Golang, Python, Ruby • Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes. • Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Chef. • Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, firewall configurations, and computer networking principles. • Understanding of distributed systems architecture and microservices design patterns. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (VMware), and Cloud Automation Tools (Boto, CloudFormation, Terraform) • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum) and IT project management practices. • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and troubleshooting software issues. • Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services integration is a plus. • Experience with enterprise software deployment within a DevOps culture is highly desirable.
