With the recent acquisition of ADstruc, a leader in traditional OOH planning and buying software, Vistar Media enhances its comprehensive suite for OOH media. For nearly 15 years, ADstruc has streamlined the planning, buying, and selling workflow for traditional OOH, allowing agencies to focus on strategy, creativity, and ROI. We are looking for a passionate Backend Engineer to join our Traditional OOH department. This role will focus on building out and scaling ADstruc as an independent platform, with plans for eventual integration into Vistar’s existing infrastructure. Additionally, you will help expand ADstruc’s capabilities internationally. You will work closely with our engineering, product, DevOps, and security teams to ensure robust performance and seamless user experiences.

What you'll do

• Take a technical leadership role on features and small teams.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and infrastructure.
• Develop maintainable, effective, and efficient solutions.
• Maintain a high level of productivity while making significant contributions to the ADstruc/Vistar platform code base.
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship through pair programming.
• Work directly with the Product team on project planning and discovery.
• Write well-designed, well-tested code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems.

What experience we're looking for:

• 7-14+ years of relevant work experience in software development.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g. engineering, computer science, etc.), or Bachelor's degree in any field and 7+ years of professional experience working as a Software Engineer.
• Proven ability to architect scalable and maintainable backend solutions.
• Strong knowledge of backend architecture, including service-oriented architecture, APIs, testing, ORMs, relational databases (PostgreSQL/PostGIS), and AWS (including AWS Lambda).
• DevOps, Containerization, and Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Experience processing large amounts of data and developing large-scale solutions.
• Experience in at least two of the following is preferred, but not required: PostgreSQL, AWS, PHP (Symfony framework), Python, TypeScript.
