Senior Software Engineer

Daily Harvest is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Engineering team. The Engineering team focuses on architecting, developing, and delivering highly scalable and innovative software that meets the needs of the Daily Harvest business and our customers.

As a member of our software engineering team, you’ll be part of a team that crafts and ships the code that powers our entire business and enables us to take care of food -- from user-facing web experiences, to code that interfaces with our RESTful and GraphQL API services. You’ll be joining a team of inspired engineers, product managers and UX designers who enjoy working together.

• Design, estimate and implement new and refactored software services on the platform securely, reliably and at scale 
• Work closely with product and engineering leadership to contribute to the technical design of projects with major company impact
• Work with internal tech teams to identify and build platform elements required to support key product features
• Provide feedback on design completeness, feature feasibility and implementation effort
• Plan sprints by providing estimates and breaking down projects and technical tasks
• Contribute to the growing expertise of Daily Harvest’s engineering team by learning from veteran members and mentoring newer recruits
• Try new frameworks or solutions when opportunities arise

• 5+ years of professional experience as a full-stack developer
• Education, training or experience equivalent to a BS (or higher, e.g., MS, or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding (e.g., physics or mathematics)
• Experience building, launching and maintaining Shopify Stores (Headless preferred and/or experience with Liquid and ThemeKit)
• Experience delivering production applications using a modern TypeScript framework
• Deep familiarity with modern React (especially Remix)
• Experience architecting an application and understanding how business trade-offs impact technical choices, and vice versa
• Experience with Agile software development and solutions tools like Asana, JIRA and Shortcut

• Experience with WCAG/ADA Compliance
• Experience with digital design tools like Figma or Sketch
• Experience with the following or equivalent languages, frameworks, or services:
  • Vanilla extract, Tailwind CSS
  • ESLint
  • React Query
  • Prettier
  • Selenium
  • Storybook
  • Vite
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Experience working with GCP, Git, and CI Pipelines
• Experience working at a start-up

The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is $159,488 - $184,488. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.
