Senior Software Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles

About the Role:

1. Design and implement scalable solutions for AV technology
2. Apply and evaluate the latest machine learning techniques for AV 2.0

About the Team:

The AV Cloud team is building technology solutions for autonomous driving.

Key Work/Projects

• Driving dataset: To accelerate the path to L4 autonomy by designing and building AV 2.0 technology, we work on sensor data collection, processing, labeling, indexing and search to build comprehensive driving scenarios.
• AI systems: Building AI systems to extract the maximum value out of Uber's worldwide operations, such as perception modeling and semantic understanding.

Minimum qualifications:

• PhD or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field OR 3-years full-time Software Engineering work experience, WHICH INCLUDES 2-years total technical software engineering experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Programming language (e.g. C, C++, Java, Python, or Go)
• Note the 2-years total of specialized software engineering experience may have been gained through education and full-time work experience, additional training, coursework, research, or similar (OR some combination of these). The years of specialized experience are not necessarily in addition to the years of Education & full-time work experience indicated.

Technical skills:

Required:

• At least 3 years of Autonomous Vehicles industry experience.
• Proficient in Python and Linux
• Familiar with OpenCV, TensorFlow/PyTorch

Preferred:

1. Master or PhD degree in computer vision or robotics.
2. Familiar with C++
3. Familiar with the Robot Operating System

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.

For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$198,000 per year - USD$220,000 per year.
