The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Backend to join our team in Denver, CO. 

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for designing, building and supporting large-scale, consumer-facing data analytics web applications.  You’ll be part of our engineering organization working with data from our industry dominant network of brokers and carriers to bring actionable insights to our customers.

What You’ll Do

  • Build new analytics software that utilizes our data pipelines to provide actionable insights for our customers in the freight industry
  • Work across the backend of the stack turning raw data into a well-designed persistence layer and exposing it through a modernized, event-driven suite of capabilities
  • Identify, design, and implement improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, creating systems that deliver greater scalability, maintainability and security
  • Review functional requirements and analyze their impact on schedule and software design
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and direction to other team members

The Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of experience in a software development role
  • Experience with AWS serverless technologies
  • Experience with containerization and clustering technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with a variety of programming languages like Java, Python, Node, C++
  • Experience working with and coding in relational databases (experience with NoSql databases is nice to have)
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A willingness to learn new technologies and contribute in less experienced areas of the stack 
  • Experience working with Angular or other modern JS frameworks is nice to have

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado's Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $130,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
