Senior Software Engineer

Geospatial Intelligence & Emerging Threats Startup We’re not your typical cybersecurity or defense company. We’re a startup that operates like a tactical problem-solving unit, blending geospatial intelligence, unique data sources, and modern surveillance tradecraft to tackle some of the most complex threats facing national security and private industry. We’re looking for someone in Austin, Texas, to help us build and grow a cutting-edge internal software team. Our current setup is a mix of outsourced and small in-house efforts — you’ll take the lead on unifying, scaling, and owning our engineering vision. You’ll wear multiple hats: lead engineer, part-time IT, occasional customer support, and even some sales engineering. That’s startup life, and we love it. Key Responsibilities • Lead the development of new products and the enhancement of existing systems • Write clean, high-performance, scalable, and maintainable code • Drive application architecture and database design • Oversee internal tooling, IT workflows, and engineering processes • Coordinate with internal teams, external partners, and clients to meet business objectives • Support QA, deployment, and maintenance of mission-critical features • Participate in and lead code reviews, sprint planning, and technical strategy sessions Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field • 3+ years of experience in full-stack development or systems architecture • Strong background in object-oriented design, APIs, and relational databases • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments • Comfortable managing multiple projects and shifting priorities • Excellent communication and leadership skills Bonus Points: • Active or eligible for Secret (or higher) security clearance • Background in geospatial analysis, OSINT, cyber threat intelligence, or defense • Experience building secure applications and handling sensitive data Location: This position is based in Austin, TX.
